Don't Wake The Kids

Number One Secret of SuperMoms

The Haps

October19

42-15977462So what have I been up to? A little too much as usual:

Work
Raising children
Celebrating James’ birthday
Helping with homework
Baking cake pops
Speed reading the blogs I follow
Stopping by the scrapbook store
Shopping
Enjoying a fair
Watching TV
Cheering Jumpshot on at his football game
Doctor’s appointment
PTO meetings

That pretty much gives you a glimpse.

What’s missing from the list. Oh let’s see…Yeah, sleeping! Diva is full on in a stage where she wakes me up in the middle of the night. Her best friend’s mom complains about this too. What is it about Kindergartners that will not allow them to sleep? Are they that stressed? Are their little minds in constant overdrive from all the new skills they are learning? I can see the whole world opening up to before her eyes. I love Kindergarten. It’s a wonderful transformation.

We’re going through a similar transformation with Jumpshot as well. Having completed his vision therapy, he’s beginning to comprehend more of what he’s reading and starting to make those connections I’ve been waiting for. Now if only he could keep track of his stuff. My new mantra for him is RESPONSIBILITY for YOUR stuff.

And Manchild? He’s reserving all his kisses for me and all his five’s for Dad. And it’s always Peanut Butter Jelly Time! MC loves that song.

I’m supposed to be completing some research for work, but it’s almost 11 p.m. and I still need to take a shower, and I felt really guilty for not having posted all week.

I have pics of new cake pops I hope to post tomorrow. I also have a box of red velvet cake mix begging to be baked and turned into something cute! Oh what will I do?

Don’t Wake the Kids is a blog featuring Sally and sometimes James, a husband and wife team, talking about their life – the good, the bad, and the ugly.  Together, they will put their life on display, imperfections and all, with the hope that you will find it uplifting, entertaining, and amusing.

About Sally

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a mother. God blessed me with three wonderful children, who keep me going. My husband and I have been married for almost 12 years, and he’s my best friend.

I work full-time outside of the home and try to volunteer as much as I can at my children’s school. I love to bake and accidentally found out about cakepops, and I can’t stop making them. I love to scrapbook, when I find the time, but I’m still intimidated by 12×12 layouts. I also like to crochet, but I’ve only made scarves. I use it to pass the time while waiting at the doctor’s office or practice or for meetings to start.

I try to have it all, and I hope my blog lends support to other moms who mess up, want to pull out their hair, but who wouldn’t want to trade their lives for anything – just like me.

People ask me how do I do it all. I am always flattered by this, and my answer is always the same – I don’t sleep. I only get a lot done after everyone falls asleep. James came up with the name of our blog Don’t Wake The Kids because of my nocturnal nature.
