I’m running a little behind today. The sleep deprivation monster reared its ugly head and caused me to oversleep. I’m still working on going to bed at a reasonable hour. Of course my children could use that resolution as well. I don’t know what it is about Saturday nights that makes them stay up until midnight.
Anyway, what am I going to share this week? I thought I’d share some of the blog posts I’ve enjoyed recently. I took a look at my Google Reader today and discovered I follow 60 blogs. Some do not post everyday, and some post numerous times during the day. I enjoy discovering new things from some funny and interesting people, and I hope you’ll find them as inspiring as I do.
This first lady, I must sing praises about. I have always been domestically challenged. I like organization, but organizing my whole house has been forsaken dream — up until now. I found this organizational mastermind on a blog post about New Year’s Resolutions.
Her contention is that you can start small and you have to let go of your inner perfectionism. (This is most difficult for me.) But it all starts with the simple task of shining your kitchen sink every night. I admit I was skeptical. How could shining my kitchen sink transform my whole house? Well I can say for certain that it does. I’ve only been on the program for one week, but I can tell you I’ve become very protective of my sink. And it creates a residual effect on everything I do around the house.
I used to let things slide. I used to think what’s the point, but now I feel confident and tackling projects long overdue. I cleaned last week, and just by doing some of the things on the checklist sent everyday, I managed to prevent the disaster scene that usually accompanies Saturday morning. It’s a huge sigh of relief. So try it out. It’s free and priceless in my opinion.
Second comes from a blog which has a name I just adore:
How awesome is that? In this post, she aptly describes her feelings of inadequacy that I can relate to in a painfully honest way.
Finally, one blog I follow who posts everyday focuses on crafts for pre-schoolers and books related to her posts. I’ve yet to do a craft idea posted on her site, but my goal is to incorporate them in our weekend plans at some point this year. Check out No Time for Flashcards.
