Don't Wake The Kids

I'm a Supermom and so are you!

Scrapbooking and Testing

February19

102 I am super excited! I just ordered over 100 pictures to scrap with on Saturday. I’m sure I already have 100 lying around the house, but I’m going to get some layouts done this weekend. I am determined.

I am putting all my trepidations aside and jumping in with both feet on 12×12 layouts. The only way to get good at something is to try, right?

Speaking of trepidations, thanks to all the wonderful support you gave me on my worries yesterday. I completed the application process today, so now we wait to hear for our testing date.

I have to admit we’re practicing a little.

081 Dad: Let’s hear those ABC’s!

Manchild: A, B, C, D, E, F, Geeee, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O…Jayyyy. (Smirk.)

Great. The mischievous side of him is wreaking havoc on his poor worried parents. What if he does that during the testing? We know he knows his ABC’s, but the testing lady is going to think he doesn’t know them and may jump to the wrong conclusion.

But I can’t help but laugh at our little imp. So I gently tell him that when the lady asks him to say his ABC’s, he needs to do them right.

Immediately, he sings his best rendition yet. Good job! Thumbs up. Thumbs up is a big thing in our house.

So anyway, I’ll keep you posted on the testing, and I hope to show you lots of layouts on Monday.

Thanks for reading and lending me support when I need it. You are great!

I can’t believe you’re afraid to do 12 x 12 layouts….with your creativity they are sure to be masterpieces. I can’t wait to see what you make on Saturday.

Don’t Wake the Kids is a blog featuring Sally and sometimes James, a husband and wife team, talking about their life – the good, the bad, and the ugly.  Together, they will put their life on display, imperfections and all, with the hope that you will find it uplifting, entertaining, and amusing.

About Sally

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a mother. God blessed me with three wonderful children, who keep me going. My husband and I have been married for 12 years, and he’s my best friend.

I work full-time outside of the home and try to volunteer as much as I can at my children’s school. I love to bake and accidentally found out about cakepops, and I can’t stop making them. I love to scrapbook, when I find the time. I also like to crochet, but I’ve only made scarves. I use it to pass the time while waiting at the doctor’s office or practice or for meetings to start.

I try to have it all, and I hope my blog lends support to other moms who mess up, want to pull out their hair, but who wouldn’t want to trade their lives for anything – just like me.

People ask me how do I do it all. I am always flattered by this, and my answer is always the same – I don’t sleep. I only get a lot done after everyone falls asleep. James came up with the name of our blog Don’t Wake The Kids because of my nocturnal nature.
