As I’m writing this, there’s a rousing chorus of “You died, yes you did” coming from the living room. It seems my children (mainly Diva) have composed a song to commemorate Jumpshot’s adventure in Super Mario Galaxy 2.
I have to admire her lyrical abilities. I can’t make up a song for anything. James can take a tune and come up with lyrics. I guess Diva inherited his gift. The only song I’ve ever made up was to get the kids dressed when they were little:
If you want to go somewhere, put on your clothes.
If you want to go somewhere, put on your clothes.
If you want to go somewhere, you can’t go in your underwear,
If you want to go somewhere, put on your clothes.
They always laughed at underwear. It’s a hilarious word to a kid. Another hilarious word? Fart. No idea why.
We bought Super Mario Galaxy 2 as a birthday present for Manchild. He turned 4 last week. He has been obsessed with this game since it hit the shelves. He would watch every commercial. He watches the videos on YouTube. He gets the Toys R Us sales paper from the Sunday paper every week to tote around and show us what he wanted for his birthday. Turns out he’s more interested in watching it than playing the game.
He had a great day on his birthday. According to him, it was awesome. The best part for him he said was when I brought cupcakes to his class after their naptime. I stayed and led the students in singing Happy Birthday to him. We had breakfast for dinner and gave him lots of hugs and kisses. And everyday since then, he asks if he’s still 4. So cute. Yay for 4!
