I want to introduce you to a friend of mine. Although she doesn’t know who I am, she knows I exist. She affectionately goes by FlyLady, and I’m her FlyBaby.
I am living in CHAOS – Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome. I talk badly to myself. I get sidetracked easily. I am overwhelmed by my household chores, and I don’t even know where to begin a lot of the time. FlyLady has the answer. She has the system.
She once was like me – overwhelmed, depressed, and desperate for an answer. She too reached out and found helpful advice and incorporated into her life bit by bit. (She calls this Babysteps.) FlyLady succeeded in getting organized and creating peace in her home. Now she shares her system and insights with the world, all the while encouraging her FlyBabies to focus on Progress not Perfection.
I love her encouraging words and testimonials from the other FlyBabies, who are struggling just like me. I’m not a perfect FlyBaby. I stray from the system, often to come back to it because things just begin to fall apart again. However, she never chastises. She welcomes me back and tells me just to jump in where they are. It may take me longer than some to get it together, but with her help, I know I will.
I encourage everyone to take a look at the FlyLady site. If you’re lucky enough to be Born Organized, it’s still worth a look. There’s always something new to learn, right? And if you’re like me, FlyLady might just become your best friend.
