Once a month I attend a crop with a group of lovely ladies. We socialize as much as we put memories to our scrapbook pages. This past Friday was a treat. I needed the time to myself and with other scrappers. We had a blast all the way to 2 a.m.!
One of the best things about the crops is the conversations we have. Sometimes it’s about the latest scrapbooking technique, and sometimes it’s about life. Here are my take-aways that I’ll share with you:
1. You can eat the skin on a peach. This was the topic of conversation for a long time. We posted polls on Facebook to see who ate the skin and who didn’t. There were two of us there who have always peeled a peach before eating. I bought peaches this weekend to try it, but I haven’t had a chance yet. I’ll keep you posted.
2. Some Cricut die-cuts are very intricate and require layering. My friend got a new cartridge for her birthday, and I watched her painstakingly piece together Peter Pan, Mr. Smee, and Captain Hook. They were very cute.
3. Kits are all the rage now. I know I have trouble just getting started. Now there are tons of kits to purchase that include coordinating papers and embellishments. It does cut down on time, but I have way too much invested in paper to start using kits. They are also good for inspiration, so check out some sites.
4. I found out Disney has its own island. After a Google search, I learned it’s called Castaway Cay. You get to it via the Disney Cruise. I also learned there’s a Disney Cruise to Alaska.
5. There are scrapbooking challenges that enable you a chance to earn prizes. I’ll have to put on my to-do list to find some and post them. I’m not sure if I have time to participate, but I do like the idea.
So there you have it. The five things I learned at the crop this month. I hope I don’t go a whole month without learning something new!
What have you learned lately? It doesn’t have to be scrapbooking-related. Please share!
