Don't Wake The Kids

And Other Rules for Motherhood

Get in Front of the Camera

A few days ago, we took the kids around the city to take some pictures. It occurred to me that I don’t have a lot of pictures of myself with my children. Most often I’m the one taking pictures, and it doesn’t cross my mind to get in the picture.

Mostly because I don’t like the way I look in pictures. I think most people feel that way.

Well guess who like pictures of you?

Your children!

Children love looking at pictures of themselves and their family. You are one of your child’s favorite people, maybe even favorite.

This topic is a little close to my heart. Pictures are priceless. I lost my mother over eight years ago, and I like looking at pictures of her. That’s why I get in front of the camera every once in a while. Even though I’d prefer to stay behind it.

I may not like looking at my picture, but I love looking at me with them.

DWTK Favorite Posts of 2011

a mom blog community

I’m participating in Bloggy Moms Blog Dare 2012. Today’s prompt is a review of 2011. So here are my favorite posts from last year.

1. Who’s in Charge Here? where Diva asks whether Daddy is the boss of me.

2. Things I Learned While Cropping where the ladies and I debated whether or not you can eat the skin on a peach.

3. Scrapbooking on Canvas was one of my favorite projects this year.

4. Don’t Get Lost in the Shuffle which I promptly did after I wrote that post.

5. Don’t Be Afraid to be Room Mother is one of my popular posts. I know it can be overwhelming, but being a Room Mother is so worth it.

I hope you’ll join me as I continue my journey. It’s my goal to bring you comfort in that you’re not alone trying to balance it all. Hugs and blessings to you all in 2012!
